Our Events: In Depth

 Volunteer

The GRAD Club, we provide volunteer opportunities for our members to give back to our community while earning valuable volunteer hours. We range from local community service projects to partnerships with high schools in SBISD, ensuring there's something for everyone. By participating these activities, members not only contribute to meaningful causes but also gain skills and experiences.

 Fundraising

We are committed to fundraising every month to support the Spiral Program. By participating in our fundraising initiatives, you can help raise necessary funds for Spiral while also engaging with other members and gaining skills on leadership, collaboration, communication, problem solving, project management, time management, community engagement, and event planning.

Why We Do What We Do

The largest goal of SPIRAL’s current fundraising efforts is to raise enough money to protect the program from potential budget cuts that could threaten its future.

SPIRAL has been a cornerstone of gifted education in the Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) for many years, and we know that many families have been involved with the program for decades.

Its impact on students' intellectual growth and leadership development has been profound. To ensure that future generations of gifted children continue to benefit from SPIRAL's unique curriculum, we encourage donations from families, alumni, and supporters who value the program’s importance. Additionally, high school students in SBISD are invited to join our cause by volunteering their time and helping to raise awareness. With the community’s collective support, we can ensure SPIRAL remains a vital resource for students and continues its mission of nurturing the potential of gifted children for years to come.

What is SPIRAL?

The SPIRAL Program (Spring Branch Program for Improving Reasoning and Accelerating Learning) nurtures gifted students in grades 3 through 5 within the Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD). Offering a challenging curriculum in language arts, social studies, science, and math, students engage in advanced learning experiences one day week. The program develops reasoning skills and creative thinking while advocating for diverse giftedness to help students achieve their personal best and contribute to their communities.
